Photographic archive IsMEO Excavations Center - Negatives

The inventory series 'Centro scavi IsMEO - negativi' (over 18,000 photographic rolls) includes the photographic documentation produced by the IsMEO Archaeological Missions during excavation and monumental restoration activities in the Swat Valley in Pakistan (since 1956) and later in Ghazni, Afghanistan (since 1957). In the following years, archaeological activities will focus on other areas and cultures of Asia, starting with the Sistan region in Iran (since 1959). The series also features photographic documentation produced during inspections, surveys, visits to places and areas of interest. The negatives related to the excavation campaigns in Pakistan (Udegram) and Afghanistan (Ghazni) from 1956 and 1957 (approximately 10,000 shots) are currently published and available for consultation.
